Played by Honinbo Shusaku and Gennan Inseki in the mid-1800's, the Ear-Reddening game is perhaps the most well-known game in the Go world. Honinbo Shusaku won by 2 points. Move 127 by Honinbo Shusaku is the highlighted move of the game. Move 127 had its influence in all directions. A number of Gennan's disciples were following the game from other room and non of them doubted that Gennan would win. But a doctor, who also had been watching the game, thought that Gennan would lose. When pressed for an answer he replied: "I don't know much about the game, but when Shusaku played [move 127] Gennan's ears flushed red. This is a sign that he had been upset. This move must have taken him by surprise."

The "ear-reddening move", as that move was called, was the very first (and arguably only) recorded "kami no itte" or "divine move".
